Wharton Investment Competition 2026-2027: Official Deadlines and Resources

The Wharton Global High School Investment Competition uses both a trading simulator and a separate submission platform. Knowing where to find the current instructions is essential. This public resource guide was checked on October 12, 2026 and points readers to Wharton’s own requirements.

Registration status and the current calendar

Registration for the 2026-2027 competition is closed. The official calendar lists September 11 as the registration deadline and September 28 as the first day of trading. Students who are not registered should use the public resources to learn about the competition and watch for a future cycle, rather than assume they can join this one late.

For registered teams, the next listed deliverable deadlines are October 23: Trading Notes Analysis, November 6: Investment Policy Statement, and December 4: final report and school documentation. Each is listed at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The team-roster deadline was October 9.

These dates come from Wharton's official competition calendar. Recheck the calendar and your team's official messages for updates. Use a calendar tool that recognises the Eastern time zone when converting deadlines; a fixed offset can be misleading across a daylight-saving change.

Which platform contains the instructions?

Wharton's FAQ explains that designated student team leaders receive an invitation to SurveyMonkey Apply. That is where registered teams receive the case study, trading requirements, deliverable instructions and other official materials.

If your team cannot locate the invitation or access the materials, work with your school advisor and use the organiser's official support channel. A public article cannot replace the instructions in your registered team's account.

Separate trading access from submission access

The Wharton Investment Simulator, WInS, is used for the simulated portfolio. SurveyMonkey Apply is the competition hub for instructions and deliverable submissions. Being able to access a simulator does not by itself confirm that a required document has been submitted.

A useful administrative habit is to keep the official instruction link and the submission confirmation together for each deliverable. Confirm the correct event cycle and team account before uploading anything. This is an organisation suggestion, not an additional Wharton requirement.

Read the rules on independent student work

Wharton's rules prohibit paid advisors, education consultants and non-Wharton extracurricular courses that claim to teach the Investment Competition. Teams should read the full rules with their school advisor and refer questions about permitted support to the organisers.

The same rules explain that AI-generated work may not be submitted as the students' own. Any included AI-generated material must be cited. Students remain responsible for their own research, decisions and submitted work.

A resource path for future participants

If you are exploring the competition for a future cycle, begin with the public overview, FAQ and rules. Note questions about school participation and bring them to a teacher. Wharton's public glossary is also a useful way to learn investment vocabulary before looking at a competition case.

Keep a reading list with the official page URL, the date you checked it and the question it answers. For a new cycle, revisit the list rather than assuming that deadlines or submission instructions remain the same. Eligibility and competition-specific questions should be resolved through Wharton's official channels.
